This is the incredible moment firefighters save a young boy trapping his foot from an escalator at a Hong Kong shopping mall.

The six-year-old Japanese boy can be seen crying in his father’s arms as rescuers try to remove his right foot from his Crocs-like plastic shoes that got caught in the machinery.
He was freed five minutes later and sent to a hospital with a bruised foot.

According to Apple Daily, the boy was taking a downward escalator with his father from the second floor to the first floor.
The six-year-old’s plastic shoe was stuck in a gap at the side of the escalator, leaving his right foot trapped.
The escalator stopped moving as other passersby pressed the emergency stop button.
A reader, known by the name Daniel, told the reporter that the boy was ‘screaming and crying in his father’s arms’.
A team of seven firefighters arrived and cut part of the boy’s plastic shoes off.
Rescuers then use two crowbars to expand the gap in a bid to pull the boy’s foot.
The boy was freed five minutes later and found to have bruises on his right foot.
He was sent to Pok Oi Hospital immediately by paramedics.
Yoho Mall has not released any statement regarding the incident but the escalator was closed for repairing service.
