Barcelona have reportedly made a late move to sign Paris Saint Germain forward and former Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria.
The Spanish transfer market closes at midnight this evening and Barcelona are still looking to strengthen with the money they received from Neymar’s transfer.
The club were hoping to get a deal for Philippe Coutinho done in the final day but that will not be happening.
There were also suggestions that the club would move for Thomas Lemar but he has chosen to stay at Monaco following interest from Arsenal.
Paulo Dybala has also been a name that has been linked with the club as has Lorenzo Insigne but both will remain at their respective clubs.
That has left the Catalan giants short on transfer targets and they have turned to a former Real Madrid star to get their transfer business done.
This comes from SPORT who claim Barcelona have made late contact with PSG over potentially signing the Argentine international.
A close relationship with Leo Messi could well play into the favour of Barcelona who could play a key part in negotiations.
Though, reports claim that both clubs are still far away from any agreement and that a deal is still on the rocks.
They claim that a source had told them that anything could happen in the final few hours of the window.

The Brazilian was set on a move to the Camp Nou and attempted to force through a move with a transfer request.
That did not impress the club but they stood firm in the face of some huge money offers from Barcelona.
Now, the club have finally conceded defeat over a move.
