Leicester City are hoping to sign a centre-half today as a deal for Middlesbrough's Gaston Ramirez looks to be dead.
The January transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight and a defender is now top priority, with City being linked to two European players.
They have been strongly linked to Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji, with reports City have had a £8million bid rejected.
Reports in Belgium state the 27-year-old Senegal defender, who has been on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, is so determined to join City that he is refusing to return to his Belgian club.
